A Time to Respond?

Discover the profound significance woven into everyday moments.

One could say that each year calls us. Each year reaches out to us and asks for us to be the ‘players’ it needs us to be. I’m never sure what that is or might look like.

Lucas Turner, a modern author, once said “At the edge of the horizon, the world feels infinite  and full of potential.” I can relate to that and believe millions of hearts might acknowledge the same. It does feel ever stretching and filled with possibilities.

Now I know those options can hold dark clouds as well as the blue-sky promise. Yet, time itself, is a gift to us. This very beautiful and vulnerable time we exist within. Today, at the annual Peace Pole event we attend near 5pm, there were a number of people who spoke passionately about peace and, how we can be the ones to make a difference—set the model for others to follow.

Around the pole with us (since established in 2005) were surrounding lyrical granite markers noting peace and ‘peace prevails’ in many different languages. Those spirits were with us as we held vigil candles in the cold, offered our hopes and let them drift into ‘what could be.’
