Rights to Protect
Our Rights and our Freedoms are of paramount importance to us—to our country. If we don’t RISE to defend them, who will? Representing many variations, these could include general Human rights, labor concerns, rights related to children, the homeless, education, gender/reproductive issues, prisoners, business and animals. Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani education activist, insists, “Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world.” And………. it can.
Which right is important to you? Each one of them adds a dash of color to freedom and compassion. For these rainbows to arc over our lives, all colors are necessary. It is the intermingling of them that gives such richness to our democracy, to our lives and dreams of the future. Rights and freedom? They are interconnected. Each providing life blood to the other. Really, at the heart of what we hold close in our land.
Each person, each action, can make a difference.
